Waterville Valley, NH, Jan. 14, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — “Waterville Valley Resort is thrilled to announce a new Uphill Policy, effective immediately,” said Tim Smith, President and General Manager of Waterville Valley Resort. “Uphill travel is now welcome at Waterville Valley Resort for those who purchase an Uphill Pass and sign a liability waiver. The Uphill Pass was created to provide a safer uphill experience for all customers and employees, with an emphasis on shared responsibility and education.
Traveling uphill can be extremely risky, not just for those traveling uphill, but for resort staff – especially ski patrollers, snow guns, lift mechanics and grooming operators. The Uphill Pass will grant guests access to Waterville Valley Resort’s Uphill community, which will offer educational resources for participants and staff, updates on current conditions, information on uphill routes and offer events/ exclusive community outings. Whether you are experienced or new to Waterville Valley Resort, we want to ensure that every guest has the right education, equipment and skills to travel safely. Information about the Uphill community can be viewed by visiting the Waterville Valley Resort Adventure Center located in Town Square.
To encourage guests to take full advantage of the Uphill community of Waterville Valley Resort, the resort will only be offering an Uphill Season Pass. An Uphill Pass upgrade costs an additional $51 for season pass holders (Alpine or Nordic). Those who are not season pass holders can purchase an Uphill pass for $102. Day passes will not be offered; however, once you have your pass you are good to go all season.
Prior to riding, Uphill Pass holders must sign a liability waiver and display their reflective armband in a visible location. Reflective armbands will be provided by the Waterville Valley Resort Adventure Center.
This change in Waterville Valley Resort’s Uphill policy is being made in partnership with the United States Forest Service. Additional details of Waterville Valley Resort’s Uphill policy can be found at: waterville.com/uphill.
