The 9th edition of Hero MTB Himalaya, Shimla edition will be held from October 8-10, 2021 and this year the event will see the participation of riders from 20 cities in India.
The cycle race will cover 120 km over 2 days with an elevation gain of 3,500 m and the race promises a splendid experience for any adventure lover.
The race route takes riders through dense forests, river crossings, rugged terrain and beautiful meadows providing the ultimate off-road experience for participants.
The event has grown exponentially over the years and receives attendance from all over the world.
This year the race will see the participation of riders from over 5 nations and over 20 cities across India who will take up the challenge in the mighty “Shivaliks”.
Riders from all over India are keeping their spirits up to win the title of “King of Shivaliks”.
“The event set a benchmark for other cross country racing events around the world and we are thrilled with the huge response.
Our team is excited to see the large volume of participation and will constantly work to put the event and the city of Shimla on the global map as a premier mountain biking destination, ”said HASTPA Chief Mohit Sood.
He said groups of cyclists from across the country will be part of the race and compete for the trophy of the champion city.
Most of the entries were received from Gurgaon, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Manali and Shimla.
The trophy was won by Shimla last year with boys from Shimla raging on the podiums of several categories.
The 2 day mountain bike racing event billed as India’s most beloved mountain biking challenge was started by HASTPA and is in its 6th year now.
The race is held in the beautiful town of Shimla and takes the runners through some of the prestigious parts of the Shivalik Mountains.
The race started in 2011 with a vision to promote and seek out new talent in India on the lines of Hero MTB Himalayas.
