SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association (TAMBA) is hosting the 10th Annual Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival on Saturday and Sunday, June 18-19. The weekend-long event features three key events. For cyclists, the Corral Trail bike demo on Saturday and the recorded rides (Tahoe Triple Crown and Power Loop) on Sunday morning are registration-based events. Every Sunday at 1:00 p.m., everyone is invited to a free, family-friendly Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival at Tahoe Paradise Park in Meyers. All proceeds from event activities go towards the construction and maintenance of multi-use trails in the Lake Tahoe area.

“The Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival is a weekend event all about celebrating the mountain biking culture in the Tahoe Basin,” said TAMBA Executive Director Drew Bray. “We are thrilled to bring together our vibrant community of trail users to celebrate at this beautiful riverside venue in Meyers, where it all began 10 years ago. Join other like-minded people at this social event for all ages – coming on Father’s Day – a great way to spend time with the family! »

Sunday’s festival begins at 1:00 p.m. at Tahoe Paradise Park in Meyers, California. This is a free event featuring music from Ten Foot Tiger and Bison Bluegrass Band, food and local retailers, beer and other beverages, and a raffle with proceeds to fund the TAMBA Projects area.

Saturday’s demo day gives mountain bikers the chance to try out the latest gear from participating brands like Specialized, Norco, Kona, Trek, Rocky Mountain and Intense, among others. Shuttles are provided for cyclists to access Corral, one of the best trails in TAMBA. Register online – details are at tamba.org/tahoemtbfest.

The Tahoe Triple Crown is a trek with a challenging route established by the planning committee for the inaugural Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival in 2013. It involves approximately 5 hours of riding, 5,000 vertical feet, and covers 30 miles. For riders looking for a less strenuous ride, the intermediate “Power Loop” also wins a limited edition Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival. Runners can register online – details are at tamba.org/tahoemtbfest.
