Test your courage and win great medals at 1st annual mountain bike (MTB) race for young people “Pajarito Trail Fest” on Saturday 23 October. The cross-country style mountain bike race will start at 10 a.m. from the lower parking lot on Pajarito Mountain. Registrations close at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday and are FREE to all young cyclists aged 18 and under.
The Youth Mountain Bike Race “Pajarito Trail Fest” is brought to you by the Southwest Nordic Ski Club, Los Alamos Youth Mountain Bike Team and Pajarito Mountain. These three organizations share the same trail network, keeping our trails bustling with activity regardless of the season.
The mass start leaves the start line at 10 am on Saturday. The race course will offer young athletes, depending on their age and ability, up to 9 miles of top-notch Jemez single-track and dual-track tracks to enjoy with their friends. This is the last opportunity for young cyclists to participate in a local MTB event for the season.
Special thanks to High Mesa Dental Arts for providing the financial support to enable this event to be offered free of charge to all competitors.
You are invited to have fun this Saturday and learn more about youth cycling in our community. Representatives of the Los Alamos Youth Bike Team will be on hand to answer questions about joining the bike team. If you are feeling reluctant to participate on Saturday, maybe knowing that all the contestants will win an amazing bag of goodies will convince you to participate.
