Trail Conditions Report: 4th of July Weekend

Since the Mohican MTB100, The Mohican/Malabar Bike Club and several volunteer racers have labored every day and swept through mile 22. Kudo's to MMBC Prez Steve Burden, Mike J, Mark Jones, Garrett Brunell, Brad Rogers, Greg aka "Chef" and everyone who was able to come out for at least a day to improve trail conditions since the line of severe thunderstorms passed through.  All of the tree's that blocked trails have now been removed thanks to Mohican/Malabar Club members Jymi Perrone, Mark Shiplet, Alan Kasper, and Rick Grazzel

Thanks to the few and dedicated racer's and club members who have come out to help! Especially Steve Twining. Wink

 ohio map

The Mohican Mountain Bike 100 will start at 7AM in downtown Loudonville again this year. Registration, Packet Pickup and new race finish will be at Mohican Adventures, located about a mile from the race start. There is a new bridge and fresh paved bike path leading directly from Mohican Adventures to the race start in downtown Loudonville.

The town of Loudonville is really getting behind our event and offered to block off the main roads so there will be no traffic concerns for racers from the start of the race until racers enter the trails at Mohican Adventures. The race will begin beneath the large MTB100 banner spanning Main Street.

A printable map displays available nearby parking (click here) in church and school parking lots located next to the race start area. The schools restrooms will be open beginning at 5am and several portalets will also be located next to the start area.

Can you say PREEEEM?!

The first racer to reach the city limits of Loudonville after the race start will receive a $200 reward courtesy of the Loudonville Convention and Visitors Bureau and Kim's Bikes of Loudonville.

Note to racers regarding horses on the Blue trail:
Horses may be traveling along a short section of the Blue Trail from the end of the snowmobile trail, crossing SR97 to CR3234. Although notices have been put up requesting that they avoid this section of trail until 1pm, this is a public horse trail.
If you encounter a horse, YOU MUST, stop and walk your bike or pull your bike off the trail to allow them to pass. Horses often view moving bicycles as predators and can panic, causing a real danger to the rider! Be sure to talk to the horseman as you approach and as they pass since this will help put the horses at ease. If an incident occurs because of your neglect of this rule, you may be disqualified.
